Maximizing Your Website - Part 2

In our last article, we talked about using coupons, white papers and ask the expert boxes to gather contact information. There are also other ways besides these three to gather contact information of visitors to your website. A few more of the tools you can use are:

Newsletter - Writing a newsletter is a great way to get people to subscribe to your email list. You can make the newsletter about a variety of different topics including helpful hints, happenings in the community or just about your business. The newsletter just needs to be interesting and keep the reader coming back to read more. And, the best part is you don't have to have a weekly newsletter. You can space the newsletter out and put out a new one every quarter or even every six months. You can also include special offers for your business in the newsletter and even special offers promoting other businesses and have them reciprocate. Now, you might think that you can't write a newsletter. Well, you can even hire someone for an inexpensive price on elance.com or guru.com to write the newsletter for you.

Past Customers - You might be wondering why we have included past customers under this category. Past customers are neglected by almost every business we deal with and if you did a good job for them in the past, they will choose your company in the future. And, you already have their name, phone number and address, so it would be easy to add them to your mailing list so you can market to them in the future. Just give them a call and get their email address and start marketing to them. Many businesses can see a 10%-20% growth in their business just by taking this simple step.

We have now gone over different ways to get customers to give you their contact information. The next few articles will go over each of these ways in more detail to help you understand further.
