Remove Action Steps and Increase Your Profits

You have a very short opportunity to get people to take action when they arrive at your website. You need to attract their attention right from the outset because in a split second they can decide whether you have anything to offer and either stay on your web page or hit the back button and start searching for someone else who can help them.

Anything that you can do to eliminate steps that your customers need to take before you can make money from them will increase your chances of making a profit.

There are many things that you can do:

- Reduce the amount of text need to deliver your most important message

- If you're trying to capture email addresses then test to see whether removing the need for their name will increase conversions. Often you will find that it will.

- Remove graphics that don't help people to take a desired action especially if they are large graphics and cause the page to take longer to load when they arrive at your site.

- Keep your 'action' steps above the fold so they don't have to scroll down to see what you want them to do.

Always look at your finished website as though you are the visitor and you have very little time to spend online. See whether your site gives you what you're looking for soon enough or whether there were any aspects that caused you to stop and think for too long before doing what you were intended to do.

Go over your website and see what you can remove to get the same results, or better results in less time. On the Internet, time is a very important factor in your success.

Messages, products, satisfaction, solutions... These all need to be available instantly or people will move on and you will lose an opportunity to make more money.
